Journey Community // Journey Community is the story of ordinary people believing church is bigger than the four walls of a building. Through weekend worship gatherings and our Journey Groups meeting in homes we put a high priority on bridging biblical truth and everyday life. At Journey Community we want to do life together. We would love for you to come and visit with us. We'll be waiting!

Mike Shryock, one of the pastors and music director at Calvary Temple in Fredericktown was flown to St. Clair Hospital in Fenton, MO today. He has heart problems and possibly an aneurysm at the base of the heart. At this time they think he had a heart attack and need to do some surgery but they can't do it until he is more stable. His wife and daughter are here with him. The doctor advised the family to stay close by. This is very serious. Please pray for him and his family. The pastor of Calvary Temple, Bro. Cureton has the flu so can't be here right now for the family. As we hear more we will update.

Day plus 38. Good news-bad news. Matthew’s GVHD is almost gone for the time being-hopefully forever. He has responded very well to treatment. Over the last week we have seen a steady improvement in several areas: his stool frequency and consistency is back to normal, he has been off TPN & and Lipids (liquid nutrition) for several days and he continues to eat and drink well and we have already cut his steroid dose twice. These are all great things and are progress in the right direction in terms of getting out of here. However, the bad news is this…Matthew’s Hemorrhagic Cystitis (urinating blood) is still there and has started to worsen. We doubled his fluids yesterday and it seemed to help by late night and throughout the night. At least he is now going every hour throughout the night instead of every 15-30 minutes as he was a few days ago.

Going back in the hospital October 16 and having bone marrow transplant around the 28th. Please keep Joe and his family in your prayers. You can visit this family at www.caringbridge.com/joemurphy.

Robbie's family found out today that he has 15% leukemia cells in his bone marrow. They are trying to contact the donor for more marrow to see if this will take care of the cells. He will also get a bone marrow biopsy next week to see if the amount of leukemia is growing. Please pray for this family as this is a difficult time for them. The more relapses a child has the harder it is to get them in remission. You can visit Robbie's family and leave a note of encouragement at www.caringbridge.com/RobertChandler.
